 四、语法

 1．how many和how much，“多少”，都是用来谈论、询问数量。

   how many用来对可数名词的数量多少进行提问；how much用来对不可数名词的数量多少进行提问。例如：
   He has been to Shanghai three times.→How many times has he been to Shanghai？

  他去过上海三次。               他到上海去过多少次？

  I have a lot of money．→How much money do you have？

  我有许多钱。         你有多少钱？

 2．定冠词the的用法

  在下列几种情况需要用定冠词the：

  ①特指某（些）人或某（些）事物。

  Show me the photo of the boy.

  The book on the desk is mine.

  ②指双方都知道的人或事物。

  —Where are the new books, Jim?

  —They are on the small table.

  ③指上文提过的人或事物。

  Ji Wei lives on a farm. The farm is not big.

  ④用在世界上独一无二的事物前。

  The sun is bigger than the moon.

  ⑤用在序数词和形容词最高级前。

  The first month of the year is January.

  ⑥用在由普通名词构的专有名词前。
